…but with us is the Lord our God, to help us and to fight our battles.

- 2 Chronicles 32:8

Have you ever felt afraid?

Maybe you face an uncertain future, disease, divorce, a wayward child, a career change, or job loss.

Whatever you are going through, God is with you and will help you fight the battle.

In this verse, the king of Assyria and the hordes with him were coming to fight against Hezekiah. It was a frightening time because it meant that if the Assyrians overtook Hezekiah and his people, they could become captives and pay Assyria taxes and anything else that pleased the invading king.

However, Hezekiah did all he could and rested in God. He trusted the Lord, telling those around him not to be afraid or dismayed. The number of opponents meant nothing as long as they had the Lord on their side.

Today: God is on your side! You are not alone on the battlefield. So don’t allow worry, fear, or doubt to cloud your thoughts and weigh down your heart. Instead, cling to God, His promises, and the hope you have in Him, always remembering to put on the full armor of God. (Ephesians 6:11).

Prayer: Dear Jesus, I am afraid. I need your help, your peace, and your direction. Comfort my anxious thoughts and quiet and worried heart.

With Love,
Sherry Shepherd
