- Ephesians 6:11

Do you ever feel that something in the spiritual realm changed and you are being punished or are no longer under the protection of God’s umbrella?

The truth is that God sees us as believers through the forgiveness and love of His Son. We may suffer the consequences of our sins or the wrong we do; however, God isn’t ever about ‘zapping’ us.

Or look at it this way. If we could behave perfectly and do everything exactly right, would God love and bless us more?

If so, God would cease to be God and instead be a genie in a bottle whom we can control. That’s not to say that we shouldn’t seek to do what is right because that is honoring the Lord and a testimony to Him.

However, nothing we do can change His love for us. We were bought with a price—the blood of His Son. God loves us so much that He sent Christ to pay the penalty for our sins. And it is through His sacrifice that we are forgiven.

That doesn’t mean we should live however we want. Instead, we should seek to do what is right out of gratitude for the immense price Christ paid.

Prayer: Dear Jesus, thank you for loving me so much you willingly paid the price for my sin. Help me live in the light of your love in a way that honors you. Amen.

With Love,
Sherry Shepherd
