Behold, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs forth; do you not perceive and know it and will you not give heed to it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the dessert.

What’s the new thing you are waiting for? Do you need a fresh start? Does your life need a makeover?

This scripture was an inspired word from God given to the prophet Isaiah for a people who strayed.

Can you imagine the Lord God Almighty humbling himself from His mighty throne?
He pleaded with His people to come back to him! “Behold please my children look to me! In me there is hope! I am your redeemer! Return to me and I will make all things new! All that I have for you is springing forth if only you could believe it then you will see it! What else can I do to convince you of my love and show you I am the way? I will part seas for you. I will make a path in the wilderness for you. I will have rivers of living waters flow in dessert lands for you. I will lay my life down for you if you just believe in me!”

My friend, can you just imagine!

This scripture is such an emotional, encouraging and intimate expression of God’s love and longing for his children. When I read this, it almost feels as though I’m reading a verse from a love letter that God has written to help us understand His heart towards us.

Much like for the Israelites, despite how much we murmur, doubt, rebel, or even accuse God in anger or despair; His presence, watchfulness, faithfulness and steadfast love never waivers or fails.

Friend, can you perceive it? Do you have a willingness to know and experience the goodness of who God is and what His promises are for you? Let His Truth permeate your heart and mind; that the Holy Spirit fill you with rivers springing forth new life, new hope, new opportunities, new vision, new purpose. The “new” that you are waiting for is springing forth, you only need to perceive it and know it and take hold of it! In Jesus’ name. Amen!
