Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?”  - John 11:25-26

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?”

- John 11:25-26

Jesus is both God and man.

What is incredibly wonderful about Jesus is that He didn’t stay in the manger. He didn’t stay on the cross, either!

Instead, he died and was resurrected, overcoming sin and death for each of us to experience and know Him and have eternal life.

Because of His incredible sacrifice, we must accept Christ’s free gift of salvation, admit our wrongs and ask Him to forgive us.

Perhaps no other Bible story displays this as well as the thieves on the crosses next to Christ as He died.

One chose to believe; the other did not. Yet, Jesus promised the thief who believed that he would be with Him in paradise that very day. All that was required was for the thief to respond in faith to the message of salvation.

We celebrate the birth of Christ at Christmas but the story is incomplete without that of His resurrection.

Christ’s resurrection defeated sin and death and restored our relationship with God.

May this Easter season be one in that you truly focus on Christ’s gift of salvation and incredible sacrifice.

Prayer: Thank you, Jesus, for coming for me and giving me the free gift of eternal life. Please help me to stay focused on you. Amen.

With Love,
Sherry Shepherd
