Daily Devotional • John 15:5

I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.  - John 15:5

I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.

- John 15: 5

We were made for connection, and for relationship with others and with God.

God knew this about us as his creation- intentionally we were made to long for a connection to Him, our Creator.

Our lives are woven, and He is faithful to provide that source of connection.

Our connection to God should be an intentional choice every single day.

We are called to walk with him, to see as he sees and to act as he would in all situations.

When our connection is deep, and our hearts are full to overflowing with grace, joy, peace and love then we can share that with the world around us.

The answer to the question everyone asks- ‘What would Jesus do?’; well, I am a firm believer that he would LOVE first.

In the verse listed above- he is describing a deep connection to the source of a vine. (While I have read this verse multiple times, today it read differently.)

A vine grows upwards, outwards, horizontally, in between cracks and under stones, through other plants, etc.

A vine is adaptable, resilient and fruitful as long as it is connected to its’ source.

Reflect & journal: What in my life is not yielding fruit? How can I connect deeper to my source and lean into what he has called me to? What connections in my life bring me closer to God? Which connections pull me away?

Pray: Take captive Lord my every thought and my heart. You are my source, without you I cannot fully flourish. Teach me Jesus to flourish and grow in the way you would lead me to. I am ready to connect deeper and make my choices obedient to you. Amen

With Love,
Audri Marie
