- Luke 6:32

In this Luke 6 verse, “benefit” means fruit or growth.

He warns us there is no growth or spiritual benefit to blessing people when it is easy!

God is not impressed when we’re good to people who treat us well.

He is impressed when we’re good to people who have not been good to us.

He said even a sinner can be kind to someone who makes them feel good. We are creatures led by emotion praise and affection.

We tend to overlook people who don’t build us up or seek those who may have some benefit to us personally.

  • We may not be thoughtful to someone in the church who doesn’t have position.
  • We may not be helpful to people in the office that can’t offer us advancement.

God says that makes us no different than an unsaved person who does not know him!

Today: God, highlight people to me who are often overlooked. God, let me be kind to that person at the office who has gossiped about me. Let me reach out to that neighbor no one knows. Let me start today in my family by being kind to those who have hurt me.

By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another. John 13:35
