But mine eyes are unto thee, O God the Lord; in thee is my trust; leave not my soul destitute.

- Psalm 141:8

The Psalms are genuinely some of the most beautiful passages in the Bible. They cry out from the soul and speak to the heart.

Throughout them, we are reminded that God desires that we keep our eyes focused on Him. We are to not only focus on Him and His Word, but also trust Him.

Think of the person in your life you trust the most. How often do you see them or talk to them? How did the trust between you develop?

Most likely, you have spent a great deal of time together, sharing your struggles and joys in life.

As you spend time with someone, a relationship develops, and trust is gained and deepened. It is much the same way with the Lord. He desires to spend time with you. His Word is His love language to you so that you get to know Him and His heart for you.

When you feel no one cares for you or the trial is just too hard to endure, take a breath and remember that God is there.

He promises to love you, care for you and provide for you. He is trustworthy and just, and He is waiting to hear from you today and share His thoughts with you as well.

Prayer: Lord, keep my eyes on you today. Help me to spend time in your presence and your Word so that my relationship with you will grow strong. Amen.

With Love,
Sherry Shepherd

I thank God that in all the dark days of life, I can “tune into” His Presence and talk to Him, like a confidante. If I’m still enough, He directs me through His Scriptures or speaks in His still, small voice – encouraging me, holding me while I cry, and saving my tears in His bottle (Psalm 56:8), leading me in what steps I should be taking. Oh, I thank God that He is with me – as close as a shadow – never to forsake me no matter what I go through.

Your statement that says “When you feel no one cares for you or the trial is just too hard to endure, take a breath and remember God is there” My husband died 8 months ago and I’m having trouble with “God is there”. What does it mean God is there? What is He doing when He is “there”? How can I find comfort in knowing God is “there”? Does nothing change when God is “there”? Is He just sitting beside me as a friend would just sit and be “there” but the friend can’t do anything to help you. Is that what it means that God is there? He can’t do anything but He is just “there”.
