We continually ask God to fill, you, with the knowledge of his will…

- Colossians 1:9

Jesus continues His guide for how to pray in Matthew 6:10, “your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”

God’s Kingdom is His rule and authority.

Jesus encourages us to pray that God’s kingdom would be here on earth like it is in heaven.

We know everything in heaven is perfect and in obedience to God.

Ever since He created the world in Genesis 1, that has been God’s plan—that everything and everyone would be obedient to Him.

God’s Will is His plan and purpose.

When we pray, we usually ask according to our will—please give me a job promotion, please bring me the right husband, help my situation, problem, issue, etc. These aren’t bad things!

But God wants us to first ask for His will, because it may be entirely different than our will!

Spend a few minutes praying this morning. Remember, begin with praise to God! If you’d like a suggestion for ways to praise God, look at Psalm 23.

Then, ask God for His kingdom and will here on earth. Colossians 1:9-10 is a great verse to pray according to God’s will…

9   God, please fill me with the knowledge of Your will
through all the wisdom and understanding that the
Spirit gives, 10 so that I may live a life worthy
of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit
in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God…

TODAY:  Believe that your prayers are heard and loved by your good Heavenly Father!

With Love,
Kristi Briggs

I thank God for Kristi for being guided by and submitted to the Holy Spirit in writing this devotional. I thank Him for those at Paper Sunday who were guided by and submitted to Him to have Kristi write for such a time as this. All glory to our Father in heaven, I have been richly blessed by all of the PS devotionals, but today’s and yesterday’s… God is Sovereign, and He knows what we need and when.
